ANIMATION PROJECT 〰️

REFLECTION

As this was my first time creating an animation, I’ll admit I initially felt intimidated by the process. However, once I got started, I genuinely enjoyed learning how to design, experiment, and bring a new creative vision to life.

For my project, I chose to create a paper-collage stop motion short film titled Get Ready With Me – Episode 223: Big Mood. The animation follows a blank figure starring in a playful “Get Ready with Me” episode. Throughout the film, the character tries on a variety of outfits, facial features, accessories, and even personalities before finally landing on the perfect look that captures their “big mood” of the day. The concept blends fashion, identity, and humor using found materials and magazine cutouts.

I used a free app called Stop Motion Studio to shoot and edit my animation. The platform was surprisingly intuitive and user-friendly, which made the technical side of the project easier to manage. One of the biggest things I learned is that stop motion requires patience, consistency, and attention to detail—so many individual frames go into just a few seconds of animation!

Overall, I had a lot of fun exploring this new medium and I’m proud of how my animation turned out. The process helped me think differently about timing, storytelling, and movement, and I would love to continue experimenting with stop motion in future creative projects.
